November 5, 2007

President Lisa Ubachs called the meeting to order at 6:30pm.

Members present: Mickie Thompson, Diana Tippett, Lisa Ubachs, Cathy Carlson, Lorelei McNamee, Shantel McNamee, Nicole Wright, and Sue Berghammer.

Treasures Report: $4576. 27

Old Business:

Judges for the 2008 Fair; 1st choice is Alexcia Livingstone, 2nd choice is Jennifer Leach, 3rd choice is Todd Hovered, then Vixen Barney.

Mark will contact these prospective judges in the order above.

Minis will add Western Games to their list of events.  They will go first on Sunday followed by the large horses. Lisa is working on adding these events to the premium book.

Reviewed the newly revised guidelines for Equine Department 300 in the premium book.  All changes were discussed and approved.

Diana contacted the Latah Co Horse Show chairman and got an example of the ribbon type of awards they gave out.  After the costs were reviewed it was thought to be too expensive to do at this time.

The Back Country Horseman will donate $120.00 to the Horse show for the Trail Class awards, and The Lewis Clark Saddle Club will donate $125.00 to the horse Show for awards.

The Back Country Horseman will also put on the Trail Class again this year.

Mark H. asks that we look at and review the Asotin Co Horse 4-H Scholarship application form.  He’d like for this to be trimmed down to 3 pages instead of 5.

November 12 is the Horse Clinic at the upper level arena; Beef Barn if it rains.  Horse Council will provide a cook shack for lunch and breaks. This will be in the lower level Boyd Hall, where you can come in and get warm.

Horse Sponsorship forms are available and need to be turned into Treasurer Diana Tippett by December 1, 2007.  We are asking for each member to solicit at least two sponsorships of $20.00 each.

We had a minor water leak in the 4-H cook shack and several paper items had to be thrown away.  Lisa is looking into getting some used cabinets for the cook shack and making room for a freezer.

Next meeting will be Jan 7th 2008.

Meeting was adjourned at 7:10 pm

Mickie Thompson

Secretary
