March 10, 2008
President Linda Forsberg called the meeting to order at 7:10pm.
Disposition of minutes: minutes were read, and accepted
Treasurers Report: monthly report available in the Extension Office.
Bills to pay: $144.69 for Super Saturday, $13.31 for Demo Day plaque, $41.00 Demo Day Ribbons.
Moved and seconded, to pay the bills.
Extension Office would like to thank everyone who helped make Super Saturday a success. Special thanks to Linda Forsberg for chairing this committee.
The Fairboard is asking for support to raise money in support of building new barns. They asked for support to make a mailing to all Asotin County Households. It was moved and seconded to show our support in the amount of $300.00.
The Fairboard is having a clean-up day on March 29th!
Fair Boosters shared: Back Country Horseman are having an exhibition at the Nez Perce County Fairgrounds April 11-13. Entry is free.
There is also an agility course for 4-H dogs that will be open. Notify Kelly Haberman for more information.
County Teen Representatives: attended training in Spokane. One of the CTR’s has resigned. If you are interested, please contact the Extension Office for an application. Rayla Carlson has been elected to the State Ambassadors, which leaves an extra CTR spot open.
The Code of Conduct committee will be meeting to create a County Code of Conduct.
The committee consists of Cathy Carlson, Lisa Ubachs, Linda Forsberg, Steve Polumsky and current CTR’s.
Committee Reports:
Family Living: no new business
Livestock: clubs are able to have rental sheds by the barns. Straw will be available for clubs to use. Don’t body shave pigs.
Horse: giving more gift certificates this year. Sponsorship monies are past due. If you are not sure if you have paid your sponsorship, please contact Dianna Tippett.
Teen Rally: The Teen Rally has been set for October 24th-26th at Fields Spring Park.
Old Business:
KYG: Rayla Carlson gave a presentation of the experiences they had at Know Your Government. She gave us some cookies – they were delicious!!!
Super Saturday wrap up: It was a great success, please take some time and offer suggestions for next year. A special Thank You was given by the Ramblers 4-H Club.
Policy changes: Section 2; add E. After enrollment date of November 1st deadline there will be NO refunds given. Except for clerical errors.
Constitution clarification: Section 12, Amendments, has been changed to Article 5 section 7.
A vote for these changes will take place at the April 17th meeting.
Field Days: Beef - March 15th at Lewiston Livestock; Swine – March 29th at the CHS FFA Barn. For more information contact the Extension Office.
Bunny – March 29th at the Nez Perce County Fairgrounds (Red Barn), for more information contact Kerry Sanford at the Nez Perce County Extension Office.
Shooting Sports: The Extension Office is trying to organize Shooting Sports training for Adults. Riflery and Shotgun with a possibility of Archery. Registration will be around $40.00 to $50.00, classes will run 8 hours for two days. Please contact Nicole as soon as possible if you are interested.
ACYC: Nominations for the Asotin County Youth Awards are out and due March 25th.
New Business:
Judges expectations will be out soon.
Members interested in State Conference need to get their scholarship forms into the Extension Office before the next Council meeting.
Superintendents: if you see changes during fair, please bring them to the May meeting.
